Background and experience
Laura works relationally with adults to identify the roots of their concerns and connections between their behaviors, feelings, emotions and physiological responses. She works with individuals from a multiplicity of backgrounds with an emphasis on inclusion and diversity. Other experience includes working within a progressive charity alongside the health and care system and running a pilot programme focussed on neurodiversity for the NHS England Improvement Team (London Trusts).
Prior to relocating to the UK, Laura lived within the Asia Pacific region. Before becoming a psychotherapist she worked within cultural and business management sectors. Laura believes that all her past experiences have helped her become more attuned to various challenges and difficulties in life, and that in turn these have fostered a deeper understanding of clients from a variety of backgrounds.
Approach
Laura works with clients who may have a sense of being stuck within holding patterns or contexts that are no longer purposeful, or who struggle with issues relating to identity, behaviours, emotions and thoughts. Clients may also feel estranged from themselves without knowing why, or who have trauma and relational concerns. By attuning and responding to clients’ needs, Laura provides:
a non-judgemental and confidential environment;
skilled understanding from several listening perspectives;
tools and techniques to support the management of symptoms and for facing challenges.
Her approach to psychotherapy is integrative and her experience is working with a broad range of concerns including - but not limited to - the following:
trauma-related concerns;
relationship challenges;
confidence and self esteem;
sexuality;
gender;
neurodiversity; and
generational transmission of relational patterns.
